According to a CNET News.com report Mono chief architect Miguel de Icaza promised a full port of Microsoft’s Silverlight to Linux before the end of 2007.

Ubiquity might become a key success criteria for the technology which is widely regarded as a direct attack towards Adobe’s Flash/Flex products. The Flash player is available for Linux (version 9.0.31.0) though it is a little bit behind the Windows version (9.0.45.0).
